WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Jefferson Shreve (IN-R) introduced the Rural Animal Shelter Investment Act, bipartisan legislation to help rural animal shelters access existing federal funding to build, expand, or improve their facilities. Rep. Shomari Figures (AL-D) is co-leading the bill.

Animal shelters play an important role in rural communities. They rescue and care for animals, support public health, and often fill gaps where veterinary services are limited.

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Congressman Jefferson Shreve (IN-06) announced today that First Lieutenant Kathryn Quarcelino of the Indiana National Guard has accepted his invitation to attend President Trump’s State of the Union address.

First Lieutenant Quarcelino serves as a platoon leader with the 1313th Engineer Company in Franklin, Indiana. She is currently serving as a platoon leader in Washington, D.C., supporting the Keep D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission.

Washington, DC Congressman Jefferson Shreve (IN-06) has secured $11.7 million in federal funding for eight community projects across Indiana’s Sixth District. The funding supports roads and bridges, public safety, and clean water projects. These investments were signed into law after sustained advocacy informed by local leaders and constituents across the district. 

In his first year in Congress, Rep. Shreve secured the second-highest total funding amount among members of the Indiana House delegation.
